A deteriorating front deck was robbing this Marietta home of the curb appeal it deserved, and the homeowner wanted a complete transformation that would make a strong first impression from the street. Ace & Hammer Construction replaced the old structure with a new pressure-treated deck built from No. 1-grade lumber, finished with Fortress Al13 aluminum railing in a sharp matte black finish.
The build presented a real technical challenge, as intermediate landings set at uncommon angles made it difficult to execute clean picture framing and run the premium railing system correctly. The team mapped out multiple layout iterations before committing to a final plan, which allowed every transition to land precisely and the wood deck construction to follow the stair runs without compromise.
The project extended beyond the deck itself, with the old retaining wall replaced using segmental block, stone veneer applied to the exposed foundation wall, and horizontal underpinning installed beneath the deck to close off the undercarriage and give the entry a finished look.
Front deck curb-appeal improvements at this level deliver results that go well beyond a simple replacement, and this Marietta project shows how a front-entry transformation can shift the entire feel of a home’s exterior. A homeowner considering a similar investment can expect not just a safer, more functional entry, but a front facade that reads as polished, considered, and built to last.
