  • What is involved in a complete deck rebuild?

When you choose Ace & Hammer Construction, our highly skilled deck builders will dismantle your existing deck entirely. We over-engineer all of our new decks and go way above and beyond the “minimum” requirements. Our craftsmanship sets the bar for other deck builders to aspire to. From our experience, typical deck projects take about a week to complete. Everything is built to code, regardless of whether it’s getting inspected or not. Call us today to get started!

  • How long does it typically take to rebuild a deck?

From our experience, typical decks take about one week from start to finish (weather permitting) once we receive all materials needed to complete your project. Contact our deck builders to learn more!

  • What materials do you use for deck construction?

Sub-frame materials are pressure-treated #2 Grade. We only use #1 Grade premium deck boards (unless you’re going with composite). We only use #1 Grade support posts. Our footings are always oversized and packed with rebar. We utilize a local engineer to perform any unknown load calculations necessary. Railing options vary greatly, so feel free to ask us for more details. Contact us when you're looking for an experienced custom deck builder!

  • Can you customize deck designs to fit specific preferences?

We utilize design software to illustrate your deck. Every deck is custom-fit for the homeowner's specific application. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to our custom decks.

According to Fine Homebuilding, a continuous handrail should be installed on any set of stairs that has four or more steps. When you choose us for your new custom deck, we can accommodate all of your preferences for handrails, staircases, and more. Call us today to get started!

  • Do you provide warranties for deck rebuilds?

Absolutely. In addition to the manufacturer’s warranty on their specific products, we also offer a five-year limited warranty on workmanship for our deck installations. This is above and beyond the industry-standard one-year warranty provided by most of our competitors. We're proud to be a deck builder that stands behind their work!

  • What are the benefits of converting a patio or deck into a three or four-season space?

Converting a patio or deck into a three or four-season space gives you the freedom to enjoy an enhanced outdoor experience without suffering from the harsh climate conditions we face here in the south. You can fully enjoy the serenity of your outdoor space without breaking a sweat or shivering. These conversions also add value to your property and generally have a positive return on your investment. Whether you're looking for an experienced sunroom installer or composite deck builder, we're the team for you. Call Ace & Hammer Construction today!

  • How do three and four-season patio/deck conversions enhance home value?

A full four-season conversion is considered an “addition” to your living space. This means you can directly add the new square footage of living space to the specs of your home if you ever go to market in the future. A three-season room is very similar to your typical sunroom. It’s comfy and cozy for most of the year but is NOT considered additional “living space.” To learn more about our installations, contact our team of sunroom and deck builders today.

  • What steps are involved in converting a patio/deck into a year-round space?

First, you will need an engineered plan and design/layout of the proposed space. Next, we go to permitting. Finally, we commence with construction. Homeowners can finalize their fit and finish details while we’re handling construction. Based on our long history of installation jobs, our typical projects take four to six weeks to complete. Contact us to learn more! We're proud to be the top sunroom installer and deck builder in the area.

  • Can you integrate heating and cooling systems into three and four-season conversions?

Absolutely. Homeowners should consider either adding a secondary HVAC system or upgrading their existing HVAC system in order to handle the climate control of the additional three or four-season living space. Mini-splits have become the most cost-effective alternative for this application, from our experience. For more info on our three and four-season rooms, contact our deck builders today. We look forward to serving you!

  • How can we make some minor changes/repairs to our deck that is in good shape?

We would recommend calling a handyman for these minor repairs or changes but feel free to give us a call for some guidence.
